As the end of the school year draws near and a new K-12 school building gets closer to being finished, the Elgin School District says it is time to remember the current buildings with closing ceremonies.
Former students, staff, friends, and families are encouraged to attend and take a self-guided tour. Officials say this will also be a perfect opportunity to share stories and “remember when”.
Elgin South Elementary School’s ceremony and open house will be Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2:00pmto 4:00pm. The activities at Elgin Junior High School will also be held on Sunday starting at 4:00pm.
Elgin West Elementary School will hold their ceremony and open house on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 3:00pm. The afternoon will be in combination with LaRue Alumni’s program and banquet. The Elgin West Student Council, Choir, Jump Rope Club and Band will be performing.
