Betty B. Hanson, age 79, of Marion, passed away on Saturday morning, May 18, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at the Marion General Hospital.
On September 9, 1933, Betty was born in Terry, Montana to Albert and Pauline (Bitz) Graf.
On April 2, 1949, Betty and Willard “Willy” were married in Miles City, Montana. For over 60 years she loved him more than anything in the world. Together, they were members of the Christian Lighthouse in Marion.
Betty was a devoted wife and dedicated mother. She enjoyed over 12 years working at Meijer’s handing out samples to those who passed by.
Betty truly valued her family and friends and participated in numerous activities with them. She was part of several bowling tournaments over the years and was a member of many groups including T.O.P.S., Kings Daughters, K.O.P.S. and the FC Club. One of her most enjoyable pastimes was shopping; she loved her clothes, shoes, purses and jewelry.
Betty will be dearly missed by her three children: Mel (Anne) Hanson of Marion, Linda (Jerry) Harrison of Marion, and Brenda (Rodney) Culver of Marion; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Dixie Graf and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband Willy and her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Hanson and her brother Elmer Graf.
The Hanson family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion, where services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Joe Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Caledonia Cemetery.
