Government Closings Announced for Memorial Day

Most City of Marion departments will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013 in observance of Memorial Day.

Sanitation crews will not collect trash and recycling on Monday, May 27th. Residents who normally have sanitation services on Monday are asked to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28th. Crews will collect both Monday and Tuesday’s refuse on Tuesday, with the possibility that some of Tuesday’s collection could extend into Wednesday, May 29th.
Marion Area Transit will be closed on Monday, May 27th. Normal hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, May 28th.
Marion Senior Center will be closed on Monday, May 27th. Marion Senior Center will re-open for normal business on Tuesday, May 28th.

Necessary services including fire, police, and airport will operate as usual.

In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, all divisions of Marion Public Health will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013. The closing will include the WIC office and the Environmental Health, Public Health Nursing, Vital Statistics and Administrative Divisions.

The Marion County Building and Marion County Courthouse will be closed on Monday as well.
