Lynn A. Reinke, age 77, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2013.
Lynn was born on August 24, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, the only child of Robert B. and Virginia E. (White) Reinke.
Lynn grew up in South Euclid, Ohio, where he attended school, participated in many social activities and played sports. He graduated from Brush High School in the class of 1953. That fall, Lynn enrolled and attended college at Ohio Wesleyan University. It was there he received his bachelor degree in mathematics, graduating in 1957. He attended Case Western Reserve graduate school.
During college, Lynn enlisted in the Air Force ROTC and was called to active duty in the Air Force in 1958 during the Korean War. He was responsible for aircraft maintenance.
After his time in the military, Lynn and his wife, Kathleen, raised their family.
Lynn worked as an industrial engineer and cost accountant for United States Steel. Later he worked for Eaton Corporation as an Industrial engineer, budget clerk, budget engineer, budget supervisor, manager of cost systems and procedures, assistant salary payroll supervisor, assistant controller and controller.
He retired as Controller for the Eaton Corporation in Marion Ohio.
Lynn enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida. He was a devoted grandfather and enjoyed every minute with his grandchildren and watched with pride in many of their activities and sporting events.
He was an active member of the Board of Trustees for the condominium association in which he lived and also was a member of the Marion Noon Kiwanis.
Lynn will be affectionately remembered by his children: Keith (Mariann) Reinke of Bowling Green, Lois (Jack) Duffy of Lewis Center and Lisa (Jeff) Hyde of Ocala, FL; his beloved grandchildren: Benjamin, Brigitte and Blake Reinke, Michael and Tyler Duffy, Jacob, Wesley and Seth Hyde; and his former wife Kathleen Reinke of The Villages in Florida.
Lynn is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 5PM to 8PM; Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the Epworth United Methodist Church, 249 East Center St., Marion, at 9:30AM with visitation prior from 8:30AM until time of service. Rev. Daniel Kiger and Rev. Bill Moldwin are officiating; burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima, OH immediately following the funeral service.
