Kenneth R. Hodges, age 84, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at his residence.
Kenny was born on August 15, 1928 in Marion, Ohio to Emmett Ellwood and Daisy A. (Frantz) Hodges, Jr. On November 30, 1952, Kenny was united in marriage to Jean Barkley in Marion. He spent his career working for Whirlpool as a Tool and Die Maker.
Kenny proudly served his county during WWII in the Army Air Corps.
Kenny was gifted with a mechanical mind, a meticulous eye and hands that could make anything. He loved to go around to garage sales and he would see what no one else could see; he could turn a seemingly worthless item into a masterful work of art. He was an incredible watch maker and repairer. He also loved crossword puzzles, airplanes, photography and was an avid reader, especially enjoying the history of Marion. Most of all, he was a devoted family man and cherished his wife, children and grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 61 years Jean Hodges; his children: Douglas Allan (Teresa), Courtney Earl (Anna), Gregory Kenneth and Scott Robert (Michelle) Hodges; 6 grandchildren and sister-in-law Dale Hodges.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Emmett, Jim, Jack and Howard Hodges.
