Opportunity Marion is holding their second annual Veterans Employment and Training Services (VETS) event. The day is only open to veterans and their families and has the goals of assisting in finding and maintaining employment, providing information on Veteran Services and Programs, and reducing a little of the stress in the process.
The VETS event will take place at Kennedy Park, 2375 Harding Hwy East (SR 309) in Marion, on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Running from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the day will include the following all in one location:
The Job-a-Bago (Opportunity Job Network) will be onsite to:
- Conduct interviews for various employers.
- Develop and complete resumes for you and family members and assist with job search.
- Assist with registrations in the Ohio Means Veterans Jobs
- Assist with interviewing Skills and Techniques.
- Provide Information on Veteran programs.
- Provide utility assistance (Ohio Edison electric bill, bring your electric bill).
- Provide free National Career Readiness Certificate assessment.
- Provide information on Veteran hiring incentive programs (WOTC, Hiring Preference).
The Mobile Veterans Health and Services Representative will be on site to:
- Provide prescription assistance
- Enroll eligible Veterans into the VA Healthcare System
Local Veterans Representative from Ohio Workforce Development will be on site to
- Provide information on Veteran employment assistance programs.
- Provide information on overcoming employment barriers.
Training providers will be on site to discuss education and training opportunities
- Tri-Rivers Center for Adult Education
- Center for Workforce Development at Marion Technical College
- RoadMaster Truck Driving School
State Treasure of Ohio Representative, Joe Forkin will be onsite to:
- Provide information on Military programs
