Shirley Ann (Sisson) Beecham, 70, of Morral, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at Marion General Hospital.
She was born December 27, 1939 to the late Alec T. and Dorothy E. (Angles) Sisson.
Shirley is survived by her son, David (Linda) Beecham; three daughters, Leeann (fiancé, Rod Spires) Beecham, Sandra (Mike) Hargrave, and Donna Franklin; 12 beautiful grandchildren, Jenny (Dennis), Dorothy, Amber, Mike (Tequilla), Johnny, Davey, Bill, Sandra, Nicole, Andy, Tyger, and Clay; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Sally McCoy; aunt, Gloa Jordan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Tom, Bill, Alan, and John Sisson.
Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Morral High School, retired from Isaly’s after 27 years of dedicated service, and was a member of Grand Prairie Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching football, and loved her Ohio State Buckeyes. She also enjoyed collecting glassware, and never missed a NASCAR race. Shirley truly loved nature. She enjoyed riding through Kildeer and watching the deer run or trying to spot an Eagle. She especially loved the squirrels, and watching the birds eating from the bird feeder she kept outside her window.
More than anything Shirley loved her family and spending time with them. Being surrounded by all of her children and grandchildren at family gatherings or just playing cards with her kids brought her the greatest joy.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Reverend Eugene Parker will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the funeral home.
