William J. Doyle Jr., 71, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Marion General Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born on April 22, 1939 to the late William J. Doyle Sr. and Eileen (Sullivan) Doyle in Youngstown, Ohio.
William served in the Army and retired from Marion Power Shovel. On April 3, 1961 he married his wife, Mary C. (Davey) Doyle who preceded him in death on December 23, 1998.
He was an active member at St. Mary Church where he volunteered as well as volunteering with with Meals on Wheels. William was an avid golfer and loved traveling.
He is survived by his children, Thomas Doyle, of Marion, John (Cherie) Doyle of Tennessee, Michael Doyle of Marion, Kathleen (Mark) Smith of Marion, and Carolyn Doyle of Marion; grandchildren, Alysa, Kirsti, Austin, Taylor, Alex, Spencer, Riley, Ashley, and Mekena; great grandchild, William "Liam" Collins.
Friends may call from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with parish prayers at 5 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2010 in St. Mary Church with Fr. Michael Nimocks and Rev. Russell Howard celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
