Maridel Sharp Rice, 85, of Marion

Maridel Sharp Rice age 85 of Marion, passed away August 18, 2013 at 6:10 A.M. in her home.

Maridel was born in Superior, Ohio, Lawrence County on May 16, 1928 to the late Elva (Friend) Abrams and William Abrams.

Maridel was a member of Berean Baptist Church, American Legion Post 162, VFW Post 7201, and Ladies Moose of Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Maridel was a retired LPN (1970-1994) from the Community Medcenter. She worked many years in Private Health Duty in homes and the hospital.

In 1946 Maridel married Burl Sharp who preceded her in death in 1981. She then married Lawrence Rice in 1993. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Maridel is survived by Nieces, Cynthia (Paul) Bullion, Nancy Abrams both of Marion, Ohio, Lynda Bridges of Ironton, Ohio, Mary Crager and Joyce Reaper both of South Point, Ohio, and Kathy Reaper of Hanging Rock, Ohio. Nephews surviving, Donald (Janet) Akers, Mark (Cathy) Abrams, Danny (Sheila) Abrams all of Marion, Ohio, Johnny (Barb) Reaper of Pedro, Ohio and a Special Great Niece and Caregiver, Paulette Bullion of Marion, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jessie Louise, sisters, Rose Reaper and Garnet Akers, a brother, Chester (Mary Abrams-Gorton), and deceased Nieces, Wanda (Dick) Eaches, Connie Ross, and Geraldine (Gary) Sergent and deceased Nephews, Billy (Jeanie) Reaper, Art (Debbie) Reaper, David (Louise) Akers and Billy Abrams.

Friends may call Thursday August 22, 2013 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. with the Funeral Service imediately after calling hours at 12 Noon all at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Reed presiding. Maridel’s Nephews, Mark Abrams, Paul Bullion, Donald Akers, Great Nephews, Scott Bullion, DeWayne Bullion, and Great-Great Nephew, Justin Bullion will serve as Pallbearers. Burial will be in the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
