Alice ‘Pat’ Courtney died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in Marion, Ohio. She was born November 30, 1926 in Racine, Ohio, the daughter of Wilbur and Adena Bradford.
A perfect lady, Pat engendered the love and respect of three families, the Courtney, the Geyer and the Piacentino.
She was preceded in death by her husbands George Piacentino and Harlan Geyer, a son Michael Piacentino, sisters Ruby, Freda and brother Ralph.
Pat is survived by her husband John ‘Jack’, daughter Patricia, son George ‘Mickey’ Piancentino, her granddaughter Jennifer (Joshua) and great grandson Nicholas Bauer, her son Edward ‘Rocky’ (Anna) and her grandchildren Anthony ‘Rocco’, Gina, Kayla and Casey Piacentino as well as the extensive Courtney and Geyer families.
Pat was active in MGH TWIG I, The American Cancer Society and Marion Catholic High School. In recent years she enjoyed travel in the Americas, Europe and the surrounding seas.
A memorial mass will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 251 N. Main St., Marion, Ohio 43302. Pastor Thomas Buffer and Fr. Gary Wright SJ, nephew of Jack who joined he and Pat in marriage on May 22, 1999, will be the celebrants.
