Charles Albert Thomas, age 79, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Arbors of Delaware. Born August 13, 1934 to Roland and Thelma (Austin) Thomas in Marion. On February 20, 1954 he married Barbara Jean Walter, who survives.
Surviving is his son Jeffery (Kathy), of Marion and daughter, Cindy (Matthew) Cook, of Hillard, OH., grandchildren, Barbie Thomas and David and Amy Cook, great-granddaughter, Olivia, a sister, Velda (Bill) Hoffman and brother, Alvin (Nancy) Thomas.
He was preceded in death by brother, Clyde Abner Thomas, sisters, Betty Satta and Joyce Thomas and grandson, Nicholas.
Charlie graduated from Harding High School in 1953. He retired in 1994 from The Whirlpool Corporation and worked for Great Impressions. He was a former Boy Scout Leader and member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where he was a former greater. Charlie enjoyed woodworking and helping other people with any project!
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7PM at The First Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, September 15, 2013 where services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, September 16, 2013 with Pastor Steve deWeber officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
