Marion L. Bender age 84 of Marion, formerly of Richwood and Sandusky, Ohio, passed away Friday September 20, 2013 at Marion General Hospital. Born May 10, 1929 in Marion, Ohio to the late Henry S. and Fern Z. (Dalton) Roberts.
Marion was a homemaker. She enjoyed volunteering at Providence Hospital in Sandusky, Ohio, quilting, sewing ,and baking.
Marion married August R. Bender on July 6, 1947, he passed away July 30, 2009.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen D. (Judy) Bender of Tallmadge, Ohio, Philip Bender of Lee Summit, Missouri, Daniel L. (Beth) Bender of Sandusky, one daughter Vicki L. (Bob) Webb of Marion, one brother, Richard (Shirley) Roberts of Hartville, Ohio, two sisters, Barbara (Don) Parks of Caledonia, Marguerite Roberts of Marion, Sister in law Becky Roberts Bertke, nine grandchildren, Patrick (Jana) Bender, Justin, Tara, Felecia Bender, Joshua, Gen, Jordan, Jayce Bender, Brad, Terah Webb, Suzie (Pat) Tesmer, Three great grand children, Graham. Zachary, Finn,and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marion in death are her husband August Bender, four brothers, Paul, Bob, Jack, and Hank Roberts.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Directors with services at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. David Hoffman officiating. Also a visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Sandusky, Ohio with a Funeral service at 12 Noon with Rev. Doug Gwinner officiating. Burial will be in Perkins Township Cemetery in Sandusky, Ohio.
