Detectives from the MARMET / METHRICH Drug Task Force on Wednesday completed a two month long investigation into the trafficking of drugs by a group of men from Mississippi. This investigation was started after neighborhood complaints from the general public.
On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, Johnquez Myles, 23, was arrested in the 100 block of North Main Street for possession of cocaine and a parole violation.
The investigation concluded Wednesday when MARMET detectives with the assistance of the Marion Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested Courtney Myles and Angelo Boykins, 25, for trafficking in drugs. Courtney Myles, 28, was currently out on bond from Marion County Common Pleas Court for a possession of cocaine charge.
The fourth suspect arrested was Johnny Myles, 25, who was already being held at the Multi-County Correctional Center after being sentenced on three counts of trafficking in drugs on November 19. He knows faces more charges of trafficking in heroin.
All four men are being held at the Multi-County Correctional Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
The arrests of the four men also lead to a search warrant that was served in the 900 block of East Center Street.
“We will continue to aggressively investigate and arrest drug traffickers in this community until the message is sent that you are not welcome,” Lt. Chris Adkins of the MARMET Drug Task Force stated.
