Stanley Wayne Simpkins Sr., age 73, of Marion went to his home with the Lord on November 24, 2013.
Born in Marion on September 17, 1940 to Charles and Iona (Culp) Simpkins, he married the former Nadine Hall on December 31, 1960 and she survives at home.
A tool and diemaker by trade, Stanley was a hardworking man who loved his family and cherished his friends.
Other survivors include his 2 sons; Stanley (Shirley) Simpkins Jr. and Brad (Tracey) Simpkins, his 2 daughters; Kimberly J. Cottrill and Becky (Matt) Bender, his 2 brothers; Charles (Myrta) Simpkins and Timothy Simpkins, his 2 sisters; Janice Thompson and Shirley (Garland) Loving, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Stanley will be held on Wednesday at Noon at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 until the time of the service.
