Delores A. Hampel, age 69, of Marion, died Monday, December 16, 2013 at The Presidential Center in Marion, OH after a courageous battle with cancer.
Delores was born on August 11, 1944 to the late Edwin John and Bertha F. (Diemer) Schroeder in Glandorf, OH.
On September 14, 1968, Delores married C. Michael Hampel, he survives.
Delores had a love for education; she not only loved learning, but also teaching which was proven by her 35 years of teaching French at River Valley High School. Delores was a member of St. Mary Church, enjoyed shopping, and would always make time for her beloved grandchildren.
Delores is survived by son, Grant Michael (Karen Ann) Hampel, of Upper Arlington, OH, daughter-in-law Tonya Hampel Mauzy, of Owensboro, KY; grandchildren, Joseph Michael Hampel, Katherine Ann Hampel, August Eric Hampel, and Edie Elizabeth Hampel; brothers, Donald, Carl, Marvin, and Michael Schroeder; sisters, Edna Schnipke, Velma Luttfring, Mary Eversole, Carol Epps, Teresa Schroeder, and Constance Crawfis; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by son, Gregory John Hampel on March, 20, 2007; brother, Gerald Schroeder; and sister, Marlene Thomas.
A celebration of Delores’ life will be held at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors from 3 until 7PM on Thursday, December 19, 2013.
