Dorothy Mae Millington, 81 of Marion, formerly of Richwood, died early Monday morning, December 16, 2013 at the Presidential Center in Marion. She was born July 14, 1932 in Marion to the late Carl and Beatrice (Thurston) Norris.
On December 11, 1960 she married Ernest Millington, and he died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Norris and a sister, Ann Askew.
She was a member of the Richwood First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Dorothy was a homemaker and had been a child care provider in the Richwood area for many years. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by a son, Phillip (Teresa) Millington, Richwood; grandchildren, Matthew Millington, Grace Millington; stepsons, Daniel Millington, Richwood; David (Linda) Millington, Morral; step grandchildren, Josh (Sara), Joey, Levi, Jessica; two step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jaxson; two sisters, Madge Colby and Mary (John) Moodie, both of Marion; sister-in-law, Abbie Hamilton-Shark, Richwood; brother-in-law, Jim Askew, Marblehead.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor James Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood.
