George M. Wilson, 83

George M. WilsonGeorge M. Wilson went home to be with his best friend and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 23, 2013.  He died surrounded by family and covered by the prayers of those who knew and loved him.

He was born November 13, 1930 to Pearl and Mildred (Sappington) Wilson on Pleasant Hill Road.

George started farming on Pleasant Hill as a young man and continued farming with his son, Ron, until he retired.  But he never retired from loving or caring for the land.

George graduated from Meeker High School.  He then met and married (for 59 years) a wonderful Waldo girl named Ruth Denman, and she survives.  They worked side-by-side for many years and the Lord blessed them with a good home and farm.

George’s mom, Millie, helped them a bunch to take care of the home and the kids.  George and Ruth had two children, Connie (Joe) Caldwell and Ron (Barbara) Wilson.  He cherished them both.  They can hardly wait for the time when they will see him again in heaven.  He was truly an earthly example of their Heavenly Father.

George also had loving grandchildren he truly adored, Ashlee Rose (special friend Danny Logan), Becky (Bill) Boles, Cindy (Ben) Anderson, and Ben Caldwell.  All living within a mile of each other here in Marion—just the way he liked it.  They blessed him with great-grandchildren Kylee Rose, Brooklyn Burgess, Isaac Burgess, Nicholas Sherman, Piercen Burgess, Hope Boles, Hannah Boles, Josiah Boles, and Adalee Pearl Anderson.

George was anxious to meet his sister, Marie Spicer, who has gone to heaven.  He also had sisters-in-law Dolly Withers and Betty Smith living in Marion as well as two cousins, who were like brothers, Leo Seiter living in Texas, and Clyde Sappington living in Big Island.   He enjoyed his nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends throughout the years.

He loved his visits with folks as he would take his Daily Bread Devotionals and pray with his friends.  George loved people.  He will look forward to seeing you again.

Funeral services for George will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11AM at the Marion First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Mark Aills presiding. Interment will immediately follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Calling hours are scheduled on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 2-4 and 5-8PM, also at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Our Daily Bread” devotionals through RBC Ministries at RBC.org.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.boydbornfuneralhome.com
