Wayne Severns, 72, of Marion

Wayne SevernsWayne Severns, age 72, of Marion, Ohio passed suddenly from complications of a stroke January 6, 2014.

Born May 30, 1941, in Marion Ohio, to the late Robert and Carrie Severns, Wayne was a 1960 graduate of Pleasant High School.

Dearly loved and survived in death by his wife Nancy Severns; three sons, Greg (Gretchen) Severns, John (Aimee) Severns, and Michael (Hillary Tribbett) Malone; one sister Lenny (Dick) Ruby;  thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

While working for Whirlpool 33 years he always made time to volunteer for The Marion Popcorn Festival, Turning Point, and even participated in the Follies.  After retirement, he volunteered more time eventually serving on the Marion Popcorn Committee.  Loving interactions with people, he continued to work part time at Fast Parts, RHAM, and The Little Brown Jug.  He was also a member of the Pleasant Lions Club, YMen, Army Navy Club, and a group of friends fondly known as “The Breakfast Club”.  His love of family and friends was matched by a love of tools, woodworking, and Walker Texas Ranger!

Visitation will be held on Saturday January 11, 2014 from 10 to 12 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will immediately follow.  Services will be delivered by Pastor Gene Parker of Grand Prairie Baptist Church.  Following the service interment will be at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
