Auditor Yost Launches iPhone App to Help Fight Fraud

Auditor of State Dave Yost has unveiled Ohio Stops Fraud – a new iPhone app to report suspected fraud in public offices across the state. Ohio Stops Fraud allows any user to easily report suspected fraud anytime, anywhere.

“Today, fighting fraud goes mobile,” Auditor said. “This app makes it quick, easy and anonymous.”

Users can report fraud on their iPhones by:

  • Answering a few short questions about what was witnessed
  • Attaching evidence using a photo or video
  • Submitting the exact location with the GPS locator
  • Explaining what happened via a voice recorder

Other Features include:

  • A report tracker that allows users to track the progress of their tip or complaint
  • A news section connecting users with what’s happening at the Auditor of State’s office

To download Ohio Stops Fraud onto an ios7 iPhone 4 or later model, visit the Apple App store.

Each year, Auditor Yost receives hundreds of tips from public employees and concerned citizens online, by mail and by phone. More information about reporting fraud and the Ohio Stops Fraud app may be found online.
