Richard E. Epley, 85, of Marion

Richard E. Epley age 85 of Kingston of Marion, Ohio, passed away Saturday October 9, 2010 at his residence.

He was born May 13, 1925 in Ada, Ohio to the late George and Jennie (Stober) Epley.

On October 19,1945 in Wharton, Ohio he married Marilyn (Fehnel) and she preceded him in death on December 13, 2009.

Richard was a U.S. W.W.II Navy Veteran serviving on the U.S.S. Massachusetts Battle Ship. He was also a member of the Central Christian Church. Richard retired as a supervisor in 1983 after 32 years with the former Marion Power Shovel Co.

Surviving Richard are two sons and a daughter; Kenneth D. (Nancy) Epley of Marion, Ohio and Daniel E. (Pat) Epley of Westerville, Ohio and Sara (The late Gary) Seigneur of Napoleon, Ohio. Also surviving is a sister, Barbara Coleman of Stow, Ohio; two grandchildren and a great grandchild; Kristen (Shawn) Konya, Tim (Katie) Epley and Caroline Konya.

Besides his parents and wife, Richard was also preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Wright.

The Funeral Service will be Wednesday October 13, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Bill Snyder. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. There will be military rites at the cemetery by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday October 12, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and also on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral, 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
