Police Arrest Alleged Heroin Dealer from Detroit

MARMETThe MARMET Drug Task Force arrested a Detroit man on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 for allegedly trafficking in heroin. The arrest came after MARMET detectives, assisted by the Marion Police Department’s Special Response Team, served a search warrant at 173 Davids Street.

The search warrant came following a month long heroin trafficking investigation.

During the search warrant, detectives said they seized a loaded handgun, 4.5 grams of heroin, and $5,560 in cash.

Toriano Washington, 40, of Detroit, MI, was arrested on charges of possessing weapons while under disability and trafficking in heroin. He was taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center to await formal charges.

“The drug problem continues to be a top priority of local law enforcement,” stated Lt. Chris Adkins of MARMET. “This is another great case by the members of the MARMET Drug Task Force.”
