Our beloved Mary Catherine Miller, 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 5:15 p.m. at the home of her foster sister & caregiver, Annette (David) Brammell, Marion.
Mary was born on September 11, 1925 in Marion County. She came to live with the family of Helen Thompson in 1963 and found a place in the hearts of her new foster family.
She attended Marca School and Industries. Mary loved her “puppies” and enjoyed spending her time coloring.
Besides her foster sister, Annette, Mary is also survived by three foster brothers & two foster sisters: Harley Downs, Caledonia; Glenn Downs, Marion; John (Vicki) Thompson, Charleston, S.C.; Mary Lou Graff, Marion; and Alice Vallance, Marion, numerous foster nieces & nephews also survive her. Her foster mother, Helen Thompson, preceded her in death.
Calling hours for Mary Catherine Miller will be on Monday, February 3, 2014, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday with burial to follow in the Marion Cemetery. Officiating will be Steve Stiverson.
