Bettie E. Morris-Cellar, age 80, of 754 Gill Ave., Marion passed away on February 27, 2014 from complications due to renal failure at home surrounded by family.
Bettie was born June 29, 1933 in Union County to Bert and Hazel Simpson Morris.
On December 29, 1951 in Richwood, she married Harry A. Cellar who preceded her in death January 25, 2008.
She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. She was also with the Pleasant Township Fire Department Ladies Auxillary and worked at Treasure Land Crafts for several years. Betty loved camping, reading, working with crafts, and working in her flower gardens. She loved The Ohio State Buckeyes. Whenever possible she liked to take road trips to Holmes Co., but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by 2 sons; Steve (Jody) Cellar & John (Becky) Cellar both of Marion, Oh., 2 daugthters; Patty (Dick) Riley of Marion, Oh. & Paula Butz of Fredericktown, Oh., 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 2 brothers; Earl (Donna) Morris of Kenton, Oh. & Dennis (Joan) Morris of Winthrop Harbor, Il., and 3 sisters; Pat (Russ) Manns of Monroe, N.C., Sherrie (Dave) Good of Piqua, Oh., & Jeri Lynne (Jim) Hites of Kenton, Oh. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers, & 2 sisters.
We would like to thank: Acclaim Hospice for being there for her and our family, making it possible for us to grant mom her wish to be home in her final days, Heart of Ohio Dialysis for all their wonderful care, and Heartland for taking care of her during her short stay.
The funeral service will be held in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014, with Rev. Bill Middleton officiating. Burial will be in the Waldo Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. Pallbearers wil be Dick Riley, Andy Frame, Jason Cellar, Ben Williams, Bryan Williams, and Andrew Riley. Honorary Pallbearers are Rick Dawson and Joshua Riley.
