Mary Darlene Metz, age 79, of Marion passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 11:48 p.m. in the Marion General Hospital.
She was born on November 30, 1934 in Caledonia, Ohio to Paul and Cora (Cook) Billett.
On August 19, 1956, Mary married Carroll L. “Bud” Metz Jr. and he survives.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church, Moose Lodge #889 Women’s Auxillary, and VFW Post #3313 Women’s Auxillary.
Mary had been employed with the J.C.Penney Co., Marion City Schools in the cafeteria, L&K Restaurants, and finally retired as a bookkeeper for Dickerson Foods.
Surviving along with her husband are a son; Doug Metz of Marion, Oh., 2 daughters; Vicki (Paul) Craycraft & Kathy (Craig) Flickinger both of Marion, Oh., 5 grandchildren; David Craycraft, Tim Craycraft, Joe Craycraft, Bryce Flickinger, & Brooke Flickinger, 2 sister; Delores (Robert) Williams from the state of Delaware & Janet Ralston of Texas, along with numerous nieces & nephews.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 3-7 p.m. Pastor Merlyn Winters will conduct the funeral service on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in the Marion Cemetery.
