Sharon Sue (Siegfried) Abrams, 70, of Caledonia

Sharon Sue (Siegfried) Abrams, age 70, of Caledonia, passed away Thursday evening, March 6, 2014, at the Kobacker House in Columbus following a five year battle with cancer.

On December 28, 1943, Sharon was born in Morrow County, the daughter of the late Donald G. and Wanda L. (Fissell) Siegfried.  She graduated from Iberia High School in the Class of 1962, and also completed beauty school in Marion.

Having met on a blind date, Sharon quickly fell for James T. Abrams.  Shortly thereafter, they were married on October 18, 1964, at the Edison United Methodist Church.  He preceded her in death on January 19, 2013.

For several years, she worked as a stock person for Kroger in Mount Gilead then became a full time caregiver for her husband through his many years of heart problems.

Sharon was a long time member of the Edison United Methodist Church.  She was a past president of the United Methodist Women and enjoyed singing in the church choir and the Friendship Parish Choir.

In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed making quilts for her family and spoiling her grandchildren.  She was a stubborn woman at times, but also a very happy woman and a fighter.  She was loving and giving, always thinking of others before herself.

She will be dearly missed by her three children: Kimberly Wooten of Virginia, Jamie (Carol) Abrams Jr. of Cardington, Rhonda Abrams of Caledonia; five grandchildren:  Dirk (Brittany)Wooten, Macie (Lemaster) Wooten-Ferrell, Tommy, David and Matthew Abrams;  two step-grandchildren: Nichole and Taylor Tucker; two great-grandchildren: Teya and Liana Ferrell; a sister, Barb (Paul) Darling of Edison; four brothers: Leroy Siegfried of Springfield, OH, Rex (Mary) Siegfried of Mount Gilead, Jerry (Patsy) Siegfried of Mount Gilead, Tim (Ronda) Siegfried of Marengo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Abrams in 1999.

A memorial service honoring Sharon’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Edison United Methodist Church, 335 S. Boundary St., Edison, OH 43320, with Celebrant Don Lockwood officiating.

Memorial contributions in Sharon’s memory may be made to the Edison United Methodist Church Building Fund.
