The Fahey Banking Company has announced the February 2014 Fahey Bank Athletes of the Month are Ashleigh Lindsey of Harding and Jordan Hale of River Valley.
This is Ashleigh Lindsey’s second win of the Athlete of the Month program and she is only a sophomore. Ashleigh is gymnast at Marion Harding who won the All-Around at the District Gymnastics Championship on February 21st. Ashleigh was also crowned champion in the Uneven Parallel Bars, the Balance Beam, and the Floor Routine at the District Championship. This performance qualified Ashleigh to represent Marion at the State gymnastics meet as well.
Honorable Mentions were Jessy Goergen of Pleasant, Taylor Close of Elgin, Jessica McCombs of Ridgedale, and Morgan Lott of River Valley.
Jordan Hale is the Male Athlete of the Month for February. Jordan, a senior, is a wrestler at River Valley. Jordan won his 182 pound weight class in the MOAC tournament by pinning all of his opponents in the first period of action. Jordan finished the season with 34 pins in a single season, which ties the River Valley school record for pins. Jordan surpassed the 100 career wins this season in wrestling, which is equivalent to scoring 1,000 points in a basketball career.
Honorable Mentions were Cantyn Belmer of Elgin, Zane Burris of Pleasant, Ty Endsley of Marion Harding, and Jason Ellis of Ridgedale.
