Bill Byrd, Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Heartland of Marion on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
On April 13, 1927 Bill was born to Lanis and Eleanor Byrd of Prospect, Ohio.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
For 40 years, Bill owned & operated Byrd’s Auto Sales. Previously, he worked at Bennett Chevrolet in Marion, Graham Chevrolet in Mansfield, and was employed at one time for the Omar Bakery.
Bill is survived by his wife; Janet, 5 children; Randy, Kevin, Randal, Danny, and Christine Byrd, 3 brothers; Lanis Jr., Richard, & Jack Byrd, 3 sisters; Pauline Lansden, Janet Mehaffey, & Patricia Wolfe, 16 grandchildren including a special grandson; Christopher, and 2 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30, 2014, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Marion Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev.Charles Bowling and Rev.Willie McGary.
