Cavaliers Beat Pacers 90-76

Before Sunday’s matchup with the Indiana Pacers at The Q, the Cavaliers talked about not just meeting but exceeding the Pacers physicality.

Power forward Tristan Thompson went so far as to say, “We’ve just got to come out ready and punch them in the face first.”

With that approach going in, perhaps it should not have come as a surprise that tempers flared late in the Cavs’ decisive 90-76 victory that snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Pacers and moved the Cavs within 2.5 games of the eighth-seeded Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

The surging Cavs, winners of four of five to improve to 30-45, dominated throughout and frustration boiled over for the suddenly struggling Pacers, who have lost four of five to slip to 52-22 and have seen their lead over Miami for the No. 1 seed in the East drop to a single game.
