James H. Rider age 92 of Marion, Ohio passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at his residence.
He was born April 26, 1921 in Marion County, Ohio to the late Ottis E. and Clara (Biekle) Rider.
On September 5, 1948 he married Barbara L. (Withrow).
James was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. After the war he was employed at Tecumseh Products and then was employed for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years as a carrier. James was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and a life member of V.F.W. Post #7201.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rider of Marion, Oh., his children, Rebecca L. Driscoll of Wyle, Tx., Lesa L. (Doug) Milligan of St.Marys, Oh., 5 grandchildren, Douglas (Traci) Milligan Jr., Jeffrey Milligan, James Driscoll, Christopher Driscoll, David Driscoll, 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Naomi (John) Saunders of Wyoming, Oh., Mary Janette Jordan of Marion, Oh., and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Raymond Rider.
Visitation will be Monday, April 14, 2014 from 4 – 7 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 15, 2014 @ 11 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Schuring officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Marion County Veterans Council after the service. Burial will take place at a later date.
