George William Albright, 56, of Marion

On April 22, 2014 the world lost a loving and caring father, grandfather, son, & friend. George William Albright was called home after a decade long battle with MS and lung cancer. He was 56 years old.

On December 11, 1957, George was born in Marion, Ohio to the late George E. and Rachel Albright.

George was a 1976 graduate of Ridgedale High School.

On March 23, 1976 he married Kimberly Switzer, to whom he fathered three children. Later he remarried.

George loved spending time with his children, whether it be going on family trips or just camping out in the back yard. He loved fishing with his sons all night long and, when it snowed, was eager to take his children sledding till they were to cold to even move.

He was a long time welder and worked for Marion Power Shovel, Union Tank Car, and starting in 1988 Honda of America.

George was an avid music lover, he played his guitar and harmonica for anyone that listened.

George is survived by 3 children; George (Sarah) Albright, Tiffany (Earl) Sayre, and Dustin (Melissa) Albright, 3 sisters; Joyce (Bruce) Gilliam, Susan (Terry) McClure, and Nancy (George) Withrow, 10 grandchildren; Abigail Sayre, Austin Sayre, Christopher Albright, Aleaha Sayre, Zach Albright, Asher Sayre, Gabe Albright, Isabella Albright, Zane Albright, and 1 arriving in October, 1 great grandchild; Braxton Andrew-George Burris arriving in August, & 1 companion; “Chopper” ( his beloved dog).

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Wenig officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
