Recount Ordered as Pleasant Fire Levy Decided by Single Vote

VoteThe Marion County Board of Elections has ordered an recount before making the results final for the May 2014 Primary Election. The recount is required by law after initial results have the levy issue for the Pleasant Township Fire Department failing by a single vote, 766 to 765.

“This is the second issue in a year that has been decided by one vote,” stated Dave Little, Director of the Board of Elections. “The election result reinforces the need for voters to make their voice heard in each and every election.”

The Board of Elections said the recount will take place at their office, 222 West Center Street in Marion, on May 27, 2014, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
