Sarah Elizabeth "Liz" (Ferriman) Fox, age 87, of Marion, left this earth on October 29, 2010, to join the love of her life in heaven.
She married Virgil E. Fox Sr. on January 20, 1951 in Fort Wayne, Ind. He passed away on September 11, 2004, after 53 years together.
Liz as she was known to most was born on April 29, 1923 to Emmalene M. (Gray) and William T. Ferriman in Monroe County Ohio.
Liz is survived by eight daughters and one son, Mary (Phillip) Holtz of Gahanna, Patricia (Pat) Jones of Marion, Joyce (Terry) Eblin of Marion, Cathy (Harley) Hattery of Johnstown, Peggy Warwick of Marion, Rita (Douglas) Bomba of Sidney, Betty Bright of Marion, Estella "Dee" (Doug) Burns of Marion, Virgil E. Jr. of Mansfield; twenty-seven grandchildren, Tami (Thom) Black, Chris Holtz, Carrie (Dwayne) Spark, Tracy (Luann) Holtz, Kenneth Fox, Emmalene Saunders, Betti Sims, Donald Fobes, Christine (Ray) Gibson, Heather Kraviec, Carl Hattery, Thomasena Hattery, Amie (Jeff) Johnson, Jamie Warwick, Matthew (Angie) Weston, Nathan (Melissa) Weston, Charlie (Edna) Bright, Josh Bright, Jo Ann (Chris) Gibson, Ira (Amanda) Burns, Henry Burns, Mara Fox, Katie (Graham) Baldwin, Chris (Megan) Bomba, Jillian (Todd) Ianetta, Emily Bomba; 35 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, George Ferriman of Marion, Jim (Ethel) Ferriman of Marion, Paul Ferriman of Columbus, and Ted Ferriman of Hawaii; sisters, Ethel Zimmerman of Marion, Bertha Wiley of Mt. Vernon, Anna (Gerald) Fox of Prospect, Mildred (Micky) Ferriman of Marion, Emmalene "Kay" (Claude) Rinehart of Marion; brother-in-laws, Gerald (Anna) Fox of Prospect, Denzel Fox of Columbus; sister-in-laws, Shirley (Art) Utley of Larue, Delores Conners of Larue, Marion Fox of Marion, Sharon Adams of Caledonia.
Liz was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, brothers, Joseph and William Ferriman; sister, Mary Ferriman; brother-in-laws, Fred Zimmerman, Marshal Conners, Jim Wiley and Jim Fox; sister-in-laws, Mary K. Ferriman and Ruth Ann Fox; mother-in-law, Ruth Stiffler; son-in-laws, Paul Jones and Joe Warwick.
Liz never worked at a job outside the house after she was married, but was very proud that she worked at the Ordnance Plant, Corey Rubber and Universal Cooler. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2010 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Chivington officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
