Estelle M. Purcell, age 92, of Marion, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at her residence.
On November 24, 1921, Estelle was born in Denver, Colorado to the late Walter S. and Ethel (Sullivan) Heartz.
She married Joseph A. Purcell who preceded her in death on April 30, 2002.
Estelle was a member of St. Mary Church, Glider Pilot Association, and Lambda Ki Omega Sorority for over 50 years. She formerly worked as a bookkeeper at Aero Expansion Bolt, JC Penny, Fulfillment, and retired from Marion Catholic High School as a secretary. Estelle enjoyed traveling the world, taking roundtrips with her husband, and most importantly spending time with her family.
Estelle is survived by sons, Cornelius (Roxanne) Purcell of Villa Rica, Georgia and Dennis (Melissa) Purcell of Halifax, VA; three grandchildren, James, William, and Lindsay; several nieces and nephews including Barbara Purcell and Patricia Stevens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at10AM with Father Thomas Buffer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors are completing arrangements.
