Virginia E. Schweinfurth, age 100, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Presidential Center of Marion surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 25, 1914 in Marion, to LeRoy and Delma L. (Huston) Metz. She was a resident of Marion her entire life.
In 1951, she married Harold W. Schweinfurth who died in 1986.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Steven W. Schweinfurth, Phyllis (Dale E.) Peters and Sue (Milford) Chapman; ten grandchildren; many great grandchildren and a nephew Carroll “Bud” Metz.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold W. Schweinfurth; two brothers: Carroll L. and Burnell A. Metz; one daughter Shirley (Raymond) Andrews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 10:30AM to 12Noon; Funeral services will immediately follow at 12Noon with Chaplain Pamela Lamb-Hart officiating; Burial will be in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
