Albert Russell Haines passed away Sunday afternoon June 22, 2014 at his residence in Marion, Ohio surrounded by his loving family.
Albert was born May 12, 1936 in Alliance, Ohio to Russell and Mary (Lowther) Haines. He is survived by his wife Wilma, son Mark, mother Mary Conroy, sister Elaine Renn, step-brother David Conroy (Judy), and step-sisters Sally Conway (John) and Donna Bodman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Roger George (Judy), Brenda Hesson (Harold), Chris Renn (Lisa), Cameron Renn, and Casandra Lawson (Brandon).
He was preceded in death by his father Russell Haines, infant nephew Darcy Renn, nephew Danny George, and Mother and Father-in-law, Lucille and Monroe George.
He attended and graduated from Harding High School in 1954. After graduation he proudly served in the United States Army, stationed for most of his service time at Fort Bliss, Texas.
Albert worked at several Marion, Ohio factories including Eaton, Huber, American Malleable Castings Company and Marion Power Shovel. He worked as a machinist at the “Shovel” for many years. Albert was a real outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish and “train/run” beagles. He also enjoyed model railroading and was a real handyman.
The family has wonderful memories and these will be cherished! He will be sorely missed.
Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1:30PM. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with Dr. Richard A. Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery with the Marion County United Veterans Council conducting military Honors. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to The American Cancer Society.
