Ora John “Orie” Fitch, age 78 of Marion, Ohio, died at home with his family by his side July 12, 2014.
Ora was born January 11, 1936 in Paintsville, Kentucky. He was a son of the late Tug and Mae Fitch.
He worked for over 32 years for The Marion Power Shovel as a machinist and tool maker.
He was married to Christine Fitch and she survives. They were married July 5, 1969 and lived in Marion, Ohio for 45 years.
Orie was survived by seven children; Ron & Diane Bender, of Galloway, Ohio, Randy & Linda Bender, of Delaware, Ohio, Diana & George Brown, of Marysville, Ohio, Linda & Glen Jerome, of Marion, Ohio, Glenna & Dwight Leupp, of Corydon, Indiana, Judy Jacobs, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Kim & Dave Pearse, of Galena, Ohio. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild. Ora’s brother, Olen Fitch, of Paintsville, Kentucky and sister, Betty Webb, of North Carolina, survive him.
Ora was a beloved member of Calvary Bible Baptist Church, of Marion, Ohio. He loved serving others and making a difference in the lives of his family, church, and community.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Floyd Radebaugh. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Brush Ridge, Ohio. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Monday July 14, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M.
