Marty Jane Dunn age 61 passed away Tuesday July 22, 2014 at 7:17pm in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Marion on December 28, 1952 to the late Ernest and Doris (Johnson) Carpenter.
On December 19th, 1970 she married her soul mate Paul A. Dunn.
Marty is survived by her husband Paul and their two sons. Darrick (Katie) Dunn, Portland, OR and Mike (Frances) Dunn of Marion. Four grandchildren Jackson and Amelia, Portland, OR and Aryonna and Alyssa, Marion. One sister, LouAnn Bostic of Marion. Marty had six nephews and and seven nieces.
Marty graduated from Marion Harding High Class of 1971, and had an Associates Degree from Ohio State University. She was employed at GTE/Verizon for 31 years.
After retirement she spent many hours inspiring children with her love of books. Marty was the President of Goodwill Board in Marion as well as a Board Member of St Mary’s Catholic School. Marty had a love for softball and volleyball and over the years coached and played for many teams. She also had a passion for genealogy and loved to travel near and far to do her research with Paul.
Those who knew Marty would say she loved her husband, family and friends with all her heart and enjoyed nothing more than being “Nana”.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 27 at the Boyd Born Funeral Home from 2pm-6pm and a Memorial Service will follow at 6pm. 122 West Columbia Street, Marion, OH 43302.
