The Saturday in the Park Committee is seeking volunteers in Marion – individuals, community organizations, community leaders, businesses, anyone wanting to make a difference – to help with inflatable bounce rides, sell tickets, work booths, and lend a hand to ensure the success of the 2014 event.
Saturday in the Park returned to Lincoln Park in 2013 and was an overwhelming success, but the biggest need is still to find additional volunteers to help ensure that each child attending the family event has a fun and rewarding experience. Anyone wishing to learn more specifics on how they can help is urged to contact Angie Reiff, Community Engagement Coordinator with the United Way of Marion County.
Saturday in the Park is a non-profit organization with a stated purpose of providing a safe, and inexpensive family event in Marion’s Lincoln Park. Saturday in the Park’s goal is to bring together friends, families, businesses, schools, faith-based groups …people from all walks of life — aimed at celebrating, living, and playing in Marion, Ohio.
The festival is now in its 18th year of providing free and inexpensive games, rides and activities to Marion’s youth. This year will feature a dozen inflatable bounce houses and rides, a zip line, 10 COSI Science stations, a free children’s play area, two entertainment stages, a car show, over a dozen safety and police vehicles, a helicopter fly-in, and dozens of free games and activity booths.
Any proceeds from the event, after expenses, are used to help defray costs for future Saturday in the Park Festivals, as well as to help improve Lincoln Park.
If you would like to join the Saturday in the Park festival as a volunteer, call Angie Reiff at the United Way of Marion County at (740)383-3108.
