Donna Ruth Young age 81 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Saturday August 9, 2014 at the Marion Manor Nursing Home.
She was born February 24, 1933 in Marion, Ohio to the late Lester Pearl and Ruth Ella (Severns) Gates.
In November of 1952 she married Clifford L. Young and he preceded her in death in 1990.
Donna enjoyed doing art projects and oil painting, but the true love of her life was her family. She lived each day for that. They were the most important thing to her.
Donna leaves behind a daughter and three sons; Carolyn “Kay” Gates of Marion, Ohio, Delmar (Laura) Young of Marion, Ohio, Donald (Karen) Young of Jonesborough, Tn., and Clifford L. Young, Jr. of Orlando, Fla. Nine grandchildren survive; Greg, Donald, Tonya, Levoda, Jonathan, Matthew, Katilynne, Travis, and Jeremy, as well as fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild survives. A sister and a brother also survive; Margaret Ferriman of Toledo, Ohio, and Howard L. Gates of Punta Gorda, Fl.
Besides her parents and her husband, Donna was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean Petzinger, two sisters; Nancy Coons, and Brenda Gates, and a brother, Lester, Jr. Gates.
Funeral Services will be on Friday August 15, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Keith Irey. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Thursday August 14, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M.
