Dora Margaret (Mayse) Miley, 74, formerly of Marion

Dora Margaret (Mayse) MileyDora Margaret (Mayse) Miley (formerly of Marion) passed away on August 29, 2014. Dora was born in Cole Grove, Ohio to Allen D. Blankenship and Lina Mae Willis.

On August 13, 1940, she married Joseph A. Mayse (deceased in December of 1963).

She was the mother of four children, Twila Jean (deceased). Charlotte (John) Meadows II, of Marion, Larry (Carolyn) Mayse, of Cawtaba Island, and Catherine (Bill) Lute, of Prospect. She had 15 grandchildren 36 great grandchildren, and a number of great great grandchildren.

Dora was known for her love of gardening, making crafts, remodeling and redecorating her home and traveling and being near any body of water. She enjoyed family get-togethers, especially picnics and holiday celebrations.

Preceding her in death, was her second husband, Robert J. Miley, her daughter, Twila (Jean), her sisters, Eileen, Louise and her brother, Allen (Bud) and several nieces and nephews. Along with her children and grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren, she leaves many nephews and nieces to cherish their fond memories of their times with her.

Services are being handled by Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. There will be a graveside service conducted by Pastor Tom Toney of Family Life Church, at Marion Cemetery at 1:00 P.M.Thursday September 4, 2014. Immediately following the graveside service will be a picnic luncheon for family and friends at her daughter Cathy’s home, 490 Newman Cardington Rd. West.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Fairhaven Community Nursing or Wyandot County Hospice in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

The family would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Fairhaven Community Staff (especially the Wetzel Unit and Wyandot County Hospice) for their loving care of our Mother during her stay there.
