E. Dean Bentley, age 70, of Marion passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014, at 11:32 a.m. in the Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.
He was born in Knott County, Kentucky on June !0, 1944 to Bill and Bessie (Witt) Bentley.
Dean married the former Ida L. Caudill in Clintwood, VA. on May 9, 1964 and she survives in Marion. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
He was a volunteer at the Christian Broadcasting Station TV 39 and was employed for 43 years as an inspector with the Eaton/Dana Corporation before retiring in 2002.
Surviving along with his wife are a son; Michael (Vicky) Bentley of Caledonia, Oh., a brother; Roger (Lois) Bentley of Topmost, KY., 2 sisters; Ann (Doug) Gibson of Marion, OH. & Lola Faye (Ray) Griffith of Indianapolis, IN., a daughter-in-law; Dee Bentley of Marion, Oh. 4 grandchildren; Seattle & Sebastian Bentley and Matthew & A.J. Smith, and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son; Charles “Eddy” Bentley, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Monday, September 15, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. Pastors Grover Caudill and David Akins will conduct the funeral service in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
