Douglas Lee Eckard, age 57, of Marion passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014, at 9:45 p.m. in the Dayton VA Hospital.
He was born on December 26, 1956 in Marion, Ohio to Warren Franklin and Rose Ann (Duffey) Eckard. His mother preceded him in death and his father survives in Hillard, OH.
Doug served in the U.S.Army and was an avid sports fan who backed the Cleveland Browns, Cavs, & Indians and especially the OSU Buckeyes.
The lifelong Marion resident is survived by his father; Warren Eckard, 1 brother; James (Ann) Eckard, 2 step sisters; Bev Wasserbeck & Kim Mathys, and 2 half sisters; Tracy Hignite & Tara Burton.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the 1st Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Don Diehl presiding. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time and burial will be at a later date.
