Cheryl J. Shick, age 51 of Marengo, died Sunday morning November 28, 2010 at Grant Medical Center following a three year battle with Leukemia.
She was born on August 30, 1959 in Delaware to the late Edward Stambaugh and Shirley (Nininger) Stambaugh of Mount Gilead.
A lifelong area resident, a 1977 graduate of Highland High School and co-owner of Jim’s Auto Center. Member of the Olive Green Church of Christ and Christian Union.
Cheryl loved her family, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Spending time at Lake Erie and Salt Fork State Park fishing and camping were pastimes spent with her family. Cheryl could be bossy in nature at times , but it was for your own good if you paid attention to what she was telling you.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband James of 34 years and they were married June 5, 1976 in Olive Green; son and daughter-in-law; Jeremy and Brandy Shick; grandchildren: Austin and Allysa; brothers: Lawrence (Dianna) Of New Albany, Jim (Lori) of Fredericktown, Jerry (Colleen) of Centerburg; sisters: Jane (Don) Dudley of Mount Gilead, Joyce (Raymond) Garner of Mount Gilead, Neva (John) Ellas of Hilliard, Ginny (C.) Rocky of Frazeysburg; and she will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded by infant brother: Michael.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday December 5, 2010 at the Olive Green Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Ken Mossor officiating.
