Anna Mae Shoup age 92 passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Marion Manor Nursing Home.
She was born September 12, 1922 in Marion, Ohio to the late Joseph B. and Bethel A. (Snair) Spano.
On September 19, 1943 she married Ross David Shoup at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Ross preceded her in death on February 16, 1987.
Surviving are a son, Ross David Shoup II of Marion, a grandson, James and great grandchildren, sister in law, Doris (Richard) Griffith of Richwood, Oh. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Hazel Lehman and Esther Miller.
A 1940 graduate of Marion Harding High School and the Marion Business College, she worked at WMRN Radio Station and The Jay H. Maish Company.
On October 9, 1927 she was baptized at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, served on the Altar Committee and was the organist for many years. She volunteered at Marion General Hospital and the American Red Cross. A member and past president of Green Thumb Garden Club, she enjoyed flower arranging, bridge and golf.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 31, 2014 @ 11 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 930 Harding Memorial Parkway with Rev. Craig Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, 10AM, one hour prior to service at St. Pauls. Arrangements are being handled by the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
