Marion State Representative Elected to Leadership in Ohio House

Dorothy PelandaState Representative Dorothy Pelanda (R-Marysville) was elected Wednesday by her fellow Republican legislators in the Ohio House to serve as Assistant Majority Whip during the upcoming 131st General Assembly.

“I am humbled at the honor of being elected to leadership and will work tirelessly towards caucus unity for the good of the people of this great state,” Pelanda said.

As Assistant Majority Whip, Rep. Pelanda will be responsible for monitoring legislation and securing votes for legislation on the House floor.

Pelanda is currently in her first full term in the Ohio House, representing the 86th District, which includes all of Union County and part of Marion County, including the City of Marion. She started as a representative after being appointed to a vacant position.

The House Republican Caucus on Wednesday selected their entire leadership team for the 131st General Assembly. The official swearing in of new members and leadership positions will occur in the first week of January, during opening day ceremonies in Columbus.
