Mary L. Matejko, age 96, of Marion, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 at her residence.
Mary was born on June 11, 1918 to the late Joseph and Helen (Hemske) Sosenko in Johnstown, PA.
On June 26, 1941, she married George Matejko who survives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Anthony Sosenko and Stanley Sosenko, as well as 2 sisters, Bertha Schebendach and Helen Shipley. Besides her husband, Mary is survived by 2 sons, John (Marianne) Matejko of West River, MD and George (Ann) Matejko of Carmen, ID, and a daughter, JoAnn (Dave) White of Prospect. OH, as well as her grandchildren, Anne (Mark) Yaussy, Emily (Van) Creasap, one step granddaughter, Angela (Patrick) Geddes, and 3 great-grandchildren, Maddison Yaussy, Brady Yaussy, and Quinn Creasap.
Services for Mary will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at1:00 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Fr. Thomas Buffer presiding. Interment will immediately follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home prior to the service on Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
