Betty Jo Gandee, age 77, of Marion, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Marion General Hospital.
Betty was born in Huntington, West Virginia to Nada (Dean) and Sidney Spurlock.
Betty married Donald E. Van Gundy in December 1954 and later divorced. She married Robert D. Gandee August 21, 1965 who survives.
Betty is preceded in death by two sisters Helen A. Bigler and Thurley F. O’Rourke.
Betty is survived by husband, Robert Gandee, four children, C. Sue Bland (Dave) of Nevada, OH, Donald Keith Van Gundy, of Chula Vista, CA, M. Jane Mouser (Eric) of West Mansfield, OH and E. Beth Borders (Larry), ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Ruth Ann Mastronardi now of Florida.
Betty attended Willis High School of Delaware, OH. She was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church, former member of Rebekah, Creative Guild of Marion and Red Hat society of Homosassa, FL. She was employed at the Brown House restaurant for 20 years.
Betty was a long time seamstress and crafter. She enjoyed selling her wares at craft shows and different gift shops. Betty loved spending time with her family and tending to her many flowers in the spring and summer.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors from 5 until 8 PM where a funeral service will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, December 6, 2014 with Rev Kenneth Durtsche officiating.
