Berniece Elizabeth Conkle, died peacefully at home in Marion on Friday morning, December 24, 2010.
She was born in Byesville, Ohio, on October 9, 1919, to Dewitt Talmadge Oliver and Ollie Kackley Oliver.
On July 1, 1944, she was married to Louis B. Conkle, who survives.
After graduating from Byesville High School in 1937, she completed a business course in Columbus and was employed by the Ohio Farm Bureau. She worked for the Selective Service, both in Columbus and Marion, during World War II. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marion.
Her survivors include children Judith (Keith) Roberts, of Hanover, Indiana; Cindi (Henry) Antone, of Marion, Ohio; Dan (Debbie) Conkle, of Bloomington, Indiana; and Jim (Sarah) Conkle, of Missoula, Montana. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a brother, Newt Oliver of Springfield, Ohio.
Family will recieve friends Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, 347 West Center Street, Marion. Services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, with Rev. Dan Kiger officiating.
