League of Women Voters of Marion’s monthly program meeting, Overview of JDAI, Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative, will be held at United Way’s Conference Room, 125 Executive Drive, Thursday, January 15, 6:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
Deborah Alspach, Administrative Judge of the Family Court for Marion County, will provide an overview of JDAI, Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative that seeks to reduce the use of detention. She will also discuss C.A.R.E.F.I.T., a visitation center and neutral exchange point for parents and children, and also the use of the court’s Facilities Dog, Camry. If time permits, Alspach will also describe the court’s alternative dispute resolution options.
Marion League is actively seeking and welcoming new members. LWV is a nonpartisan political organization founded in 1920 to improve our systems of democratic government and impact public policies through citizen education and advocacy. The League is a grassroots organization with more than 700 local Leagues, working at the national, state and local levels.
