Robert Lewis “Bob” Litzenberg, 67, of Marion

Robert Lewis “Bob” LitzenbergRobert Lewis “Bob” Litzenberg, age 67, of Marion passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

On November 22, 1947 Bob was born in Butler, PA to the late Arthur and Katherine (Pfister) Litzenberg.

Bob graduated from Marion Catholic High School in 1966 where he was selected as All Ohio in Football.  After graduating from Marion Catholic, Bob attended St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN where he played Football for four years and graduated with a BS in Business.

On April 27, 1977, Bob married Carolyn Rodman, who survives.

Bob previously worked for The Eaton Corporation and later retired from ODOT as the Equipment Superintendent for the 6th District.

Saying Bob was a family man is an understatement.  He always hosted family holidays where everyone was invited and was noted as being the family Uno Champ.  Bob was a former member of K of P in Prospect, K of C in Marion, Moose, VFW and Civitan International.  In addition, Bob loved to play Santa at MARCA.

Bob is survived by children, Gene Stone of Marion, Brian Stone of Marion, and Mary Katherine “Katie” Litzenberg of Nevada; brother, David Litzenberg (Elizabeth); sisters, Harriet Wasserbeck (Harold), Charlotte Obenour (Richard), Lorraine “Lori”  Litzenberg (Fiancé, Bill Gedye); grandchildren, Kyle, Courtney, Owen, Brielle, and Marlin Stone; great-grandchild, Bre Stone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by brothers, John “Jack” Arthur Litzenberg and Bruce Litzenberg; and sisters, Shirley Ann Litzenberg and Mary Kay Emery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 4 until 7PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, a division of Snyder Funeral Homes.  A Mass will be celebrated 10AM Friday, January 16, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Thomas Buffer presiding.  Burial will follow at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
